// Overview

THE REALITY
ON THE GROUND

Iran is home to various minority groups, many of whom face persecution by the government and remain unreached by the Gospel. These communities, including Zoroastrians, Persian Jews, and nomadic tribes such as the Luri and Qashqai, often have little to no Christian presence.

Despite these challenges, there is a significant spiritual shift occurring. In 1979, there were an estimated 500 Muslim-background believers; today, some estimates suggest over 1 million Iranians have come to faith. This revival is considered unprecedented since the 7th century. Although conversion from Islam remains illegal and punishable by death, many are discovering Christianity through dreams, visions, and the efforts of the underground church.

There is a growing disillusionment with the current regime and traditional religious structures, evidenced by the closure of over 50,000 mosques. Many young people, desperate for freedom, justice, and truth, are turning toward atheism, ancient Zoroastrianism, or the hope found in the Gospel.

ACTION SPORTS

Iran features over 20 ski resorts and a burgeoning underground skate scene. In a society where public evangelism is strictly forbidden, action sports allow for the building of genuine relationships and the sharing of faith within communities centered on common passions. Snowboarding and skateboarding are providing unique avenues for outreach and discipleship.

SCRIPTURE

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."

— 2 Corinthians 5:20
